- Synopsis:
Romantic drama directed by Vittoria De Sica and starring Richard Burton. When the head of the Braggi family dies, he leaves his two sons, Cesare (Burton) and Antonio (Ian Bannen), the family business in his will. Another one of his dying wishes was for Antonio to ask for the hand in marriage of the lovely Adriana De Mauro (Sophia Loren). Adriana accepts Antonio's proposal, despite being in love with Cesare. This leaves Cesare completely heartbroken and he leaves the village. When Antonio dies in a car accident, Cesare returns to take care of Adriana and the family business. Unfortunately, Adriana has been diagnosed with an incurable illness and the pair must make the most of their remaining time together. - Actors:
