- "Umrao Jaan" is a story of a girl, whose life took the biggest turn, when she got abducted at a very young age and sold off to a 'Kothawali', where she was raised and given the name Umrao Jaan. Umrao was admired for her beauty and voice, many men came in her life, but she only loved one, and she was fortunate enough to have him love her back... but their love did not last long. She loses her sense of direction when her love marries. She decides she will no longer dance for people, but it is not easy to escape from the world she live's in.
