Cathy Palmer (Williams) is a neglected housewife whose only excitement in life comes from reading sizzling romantic thrillers by the renowned Rebecca Ryan. Entering a Rebecca Ryan writing contest, Cathy wins a trip to Paris, where she gets knocked on the head in an accident. When she awakes, she believes she is Rebecca Ryan, and begins living all the glamour, suspense and romance of her favorite authoress.
Tom Conti is engaging as the man who tries to convince her she's living in a dream world and Giancarlo Giannini adds enough mystery to make it all very real indeed. This bright, whimsical, light-hearted story is for the romantic and dreamer in all of us.
