Synopsis:
The thrillers of Edgar Wallace, one of the twentieth century's most successful crime novelists, have been widely adapted for film and television - the most memorable series being 'The Edgar Wallace Mysteries', made at Merton Park Studios during the first half of the 1960's. A noir-esque series, it updates some of the author's stories to more contemporary settings, blending classic B-movie elements with a distinctly British feel. Unseen for decades, these dramas have been freshly transferred from the original film elements specifically for this release.
This third volume includes top-notch performances from Michael Caine, Barry Foster, Michael Gough, Bernard Lee, Jack Watling and Michael Goodliffe, and features scripts by Philip Mackie, Robert Banks Stewart and Lukas Heller.

Caine in an able cast - The Edgar Wallace Mysteries: Vol.3 review by CH

Spoiler Alert

One of the many enjoyable aspects of these 50-minute dramas is that one spots an actor on the cusp of fame or taking the work on offer after earlier starring roles. In the case of disc two of series three, one is startled to find that one of the villains is none other than Michael Caine, and there is also an appearance by Murray Melvin, perhaps best known for A Taste of Honey.
