Synopsis:
A runaway success for ITC in the 1960's, 'Danger Man' showcased a compelling performance from Patrick McGoohan that cemented his fame on both sides of the Atlantic and paved the way for him to make his undeniable tour de force cult classic: 'The Prisoner'. McGoohan is John Drake - an exemplary agent for British Intelligence who is sent into situations too tricky or dangerous for normal spies to undertake. Showcasing a superb soundtrack from Edwin Astley, this classic drama series features intriguing storylines from key writers -including Brian Clemens, Ralph Smart, Donald Jonson, Philip Broadley and Tony Williamson.

Of its time - Danger Man: Series review by HM

Sadly you have to sign up for the whole collection of series. Colour and a memorable theme tune appeared in later series. McGoohan is brilliant in the lead role and would surely have been a great Bond? Typical of the period the scripts are smart condensed and straight to the point. The formula? John Drake has a punch up and always seems to have a pretty female involved. The plots are good though and are usually based abroad somewhere exotic, even if it is actually Wales or a back drop shot of Istanbul etc.

Definitely worth a hire to enjoy a season of a very good 1960s action/thriller stuff. Enjoy.
