- Directed by Pete Travis 'City of Tiny Lights' stars Riz Ahmed and Billie Piper in a unique portrait of contemporary London as a multicultural metropolis teeming with intimidation and deceit. Riz Ahmed is Tommy Akhtar, a deadbeat private eye with a taste for cigarettes and bourbon and a finely tuned moral compass that he keeps hidden behind a sharp cynicism. When he walks into his office one morning to find high-class prostitute Melody seeking his help, he takes on a job that goes beyond a simple missing person case into something far more sinister.

Decent-Enough but OTT Inner-City London Thriller with Snappy Dialogue - City of Tiny Lights review by PV
I enjoyed this - especially the first half.
It then gets rather OTT and convoluted. Plots is not seriously believable but it is entertaining enough.
I saw the twist coming a mile off from an early plant in the story.
Based on a novel that got decent reviews; the novelist wrote the screenplay. Some nifty snappy dialogue.
I'd recommend DIRTY PRETTY THINGS more, however, which covers similar ground.
