Synopsis:
For years, O has lived isolated in the world of professional killing. His intensely disciplined regime forbids him any contact with others, and the death of his lover has served only to force him further away from the world around him. Tok, however, is a flamboyant newcomer to this secretive world. Chasing the thrill of the hit, he is driven to become the number one, but there is a significant obstacle: O, and his fierce dedication. Using O's part-time housekeeper, Chin, as a way to get to O, Tok begins his campaign. Soon, Chin is dragged into their dangerous world and, as Tok challenges his elusive rival to duel, Agent Lee at Interpol gets closer to finding O.

Stylish Hong Kong actioner - Fulltime Killer review by Alphaville

Spoiler Alert
31/03/2022

Johnnie To’s 2001 killer v killer movie suffers from comic-book characterisation and plot, but it’s still a stylish and attention-grabbing film. Technically, To’s camera is constantly on the move so there’s always something good to look at and he’s a master of crane shots that add extra flair to the action stunts. The stunts themselves seem to have been done by the actors themselves, including jumping off balconies (see illuminating Making Of feature on DVD). The scene where Any Lau is trapped between platform and speeding underground train actually seems to have been done for real. Add a score that puts a moody take on affairs and you have a film that, even when it makes no sense, is constantly watchable.
