In the aftermath of 'Ring', a new spooky videotape originating in Japan began to circulate, introducing the bloody backstory behind the ghastly mother-son pairing of Kayako and Toshio Saeki. When elementary school teacher Kobayashi (Yurei Yanagi, Boiling Point) investigates the absence of one of his young pupils from the classroom, he finds himself at the doorstep of an anonymous suburban house that harbours a horrible secret, and into which all who enter are doomed. Never officially released in the West, the straight-to-video double whammy of the 'Ju-On: The Curse' and its sequel became a word-of-mouth sensation, leading to legendary J-horror producer Taka Ichise putting his weight behind the sensational theatrical follow-up and to this urban legend spreading on a global scale. - Actors:
