Dull and pointlessly violent - Lower City review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert
09/04/2009

Never one to shy away from gritty or violent films, I watched this offering expecting a moving story that would captivate me. Instead I was bored and indifferent to a story that lacked any real substance and, instead, focused too much on protracted scenes of violence to compensate for the lack of credible story.

Strong crude scenes but good gripping plot - Lower City review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert
14/10/2014

I found it very gripping. It's also quite tense at times as it pictures the life is in despair for some (or many) in Brazil.

On the other hand there are scenes that are rather brutal. I guess violent scenes are just not my cup of tea but the film made an impression.
