One of the greatest love stories ever made, Intermezzo is the film that launched the career of Ingrid Bergman. With glamorous costuming and fantastic black and white cinematography, Intermezzo is classic 30's screen romance. When renowned violinist Holger Brandt (Howard) first hears his daughter's piano teacher (Bergman) plays, he is immediately smitten with her talent and beauty. When they fall in love, he leaves his family so they can be together. But it is not long before Brandt comes to realise how much he misses his wife and daughter and agonises over the misery he has caused them.
