Rent Winter Kills (1979)

The Kegans are an American dynasty. They own oil, banks, beautiful women, even Presidents. They have the power to make fortunes and destroy careers. One man will inherit it all. If he lives. 19 years after the assassination of his half brother President Tim Kegan, Nick Kegan (Jeff Bridges) is serving on a Naval Vessel when a dying man is brought to him, and confesses he was the second gunman involved in the assassination. Back home and by order of his domineering father (John Huston), Nick begins to investigate the man's claims and he soon finds himself deeper into the many conspiracy theories that surface, and the twists and turns become inextricably bound he finds it harder to decipher between his friends and enemies.
