- Welcome to the world of the 'Borrowers', a family of tiny people who live under the floorboards in a big old house. Pod (Ian Holm), Homily (Penelope Wilton) and their daughter Arrietty (Rebecca Callard) live happily in a home furnished with cotton reels and safety pins. Where postage stamps are used for paintings and matchboxes for chests of drawers. Everything they have is borrowed from the 'human beans' that don't even know they exist. That is until the fateful day when Arrietty makes friends with 'the boy' George (Paul Cross). First broadcast in 1992 this adaptation of the classic Mary Norton novel takes you to a world full of fantastic adventures that are enjoyable for the whole family.
