Synopsis:
With only 6000 black rhinos left on earth, one dedicated wildlife ranger, Kiloku, has made it his life mission to protect the species against all odds. But now, hemmed in by ruthless bandits, the growing population at his sanctuary are running out of space. As the rhinos risk turning on each other in a deathmatch for territory, Kiloku embarks on am audacious and potentially deadly mission: moving a group of the formidable herd to a new safe haven, 60 miles west.
Highlighting the daily struggles experienced by those risking their lives to protect biodiversity, whilst simultaneously giving voice to those on the other side of the armed conflict, this hard-hitting, authentic feature - crafted from four years of living and working alongside Kenya's conservancy community - is both timely and urgent, as banditry violence spirals out of control, and the demand for illicit rhino horn climbs ever higher.

Well Made & Interesting Wildlife Documentary - Rhino review by GI

Spoiler Alert
02/08/2026

As documentaries go that are about the natural world this one highlights a rare success story. The rehoming of black rhinos within the Kenyan conservation areas as the team of rangers protect the animals while dealing with poachers, bandits, a struggling local population and drought. The success of the protection of the Rhinos here has had a side effect and that is there is now not enough territory for the growing population and the males, especially, fight for control of their own area often a very large one. It's a well made documentary, interesting and at times moving as violent encounters often result in tragedy, all documented here. Narrated by Tom Hardy this is worth checking out if you love wildlife programmes.
