'Suzhou River' is a visually arresting tale of mystery and obsession set in the neon lit nightclubs and grimy industrial wastelands of Shanghai. Petty criminal Mardar wanders the city streets haunted by the memory of his dead lover Moudan, who threw herself into the murky depths of the Suzhou river.
