- Featuring debut roles for Robert De Niro (credited as Robert Denero) and Jill Clayburgh, with its free-wheeling, improvised style and witty performances Brian De Palma's crazy screwball comedy (made in 1966) remains one of the director's most original films. At their island mansion off the New England coast, the wealthy and eccentric Fish family prepare for the marriage of Charlie (Charles Pfluger) to their daughter, Josephine (Jill Clayburgh). But this is Charlie's first foray into the bizarre world of his prospective in-laws and he succumbs to a bad case of cold feet. As the nuptial hour approaches, will he say "I do" - or flee back to the freedoms of bachelorhood?
