Rent Matchmaker (1958)

In this early adaptation of Thornton Wilder's hit Broadway play, we meet matchmaker Dolly Levi, who is always good at arranging things primarily matrimonial and has now set her sights on the domestic affairs of one Mr. Vandergelder , a cold-hearted local store owner. The difference this time, however, is that she plans to be the one to marry him!
As Dolly plots and schemes her way into Vandergelder's heart, she brings Anthony Perkins, Shirley MacLaine and Robert Morse along for the ride and gives them a taste of cupid's arrow.
Remade years later as the classic Hello Dolly!, this light-hearted romp will leave you laughing until the very end!
