Five sailors are on overnight leave in London. Lee, a young Australian meets and falls in love with Penny. Arthur, the old salt, vanishes to see his "regular ladyfriend" in Docklands. Harry, Jamie and Paddy decide to drink their evening away. Harry ends up at a clip joint where he is eventually thrown out penniless, while Jamie falls in love with Jean and next morning jumps ship to marry her. George Hudson is a businessman taking an extended cruise who finds himself with a seductive blackmailer.
