- In 1429 a teenage girl from a remote French village stood before her King with a message she claimed came from God; that she would defeat the world's greatest army and liberate her country from its political and religious turmoil. As this small voice in the heart of a simple girl grew stronger, rulers were drawn to listen, armies empowered to fight and her countrymen inspired to believe. Following her mission to reclaim God's diminished kingdom – through her amazing victories until her violent and untimely death – the life of Joan of Arc is explored in this epic.

Milla Jovovich's Joan of Ark is a triumph - The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc review by PT
This film is a moving account of the French heroine. Mills Jovovich is utterly convincing as the brave, fearless , patriotic Joan of Arc. I learnt a lot from a historical perspective, as well as appreciating a wonderful film, that lingers in the memory a long time after seeing it. In fact after writing this review, I want to see it again.

Not as good as I hoped. - The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc review by MP
So it turns out Joan of Arc was a bit of an unhinged schoolgirl that somehow managed to attract a cult following, a bit like a medieval Greta Thunberg, albeit more bloodthirsty.
