Synopsis:
As a group of athletes try to push past rivalries to score an elusive win, a secret simmers among them. Following a drunken encounter, Mark (Alexander Lincoln), a new member of a cash-strapped and divided South London gay rugby club, finds himself drawn to Warren (Alexander King), a seasoned first team player. The pair soon embark on a romantic affair they struggle to hide from their partners and teammates. As the secret begins to unravel, team spirit, loyalties and camaraderie are tested in writer-director Matt Carter's startlingly sensitive story about forbidden love and finding your tribe.

Remarkable Achievement Given Budget Restraints - In from the Side review by Richard

Spoiler Alert

Financed by a kickstarter campaign this film contains some outstanding rugby footage in a story featuring a London gay rugby team, relationships and infidelity. Confidently directed and acted this film punches way above its weight and the end result remarkable given budget , however the storyline feels stretched at 2hrs 14mins - a cut to 90 mins would make an improvement IMHO.

Marmite... - In from the Side review by JR

Spoiler Alert
20/04/2023

Quite a well made film but not for us...a bit too earnest, it's really just a romcom without the com...and the music was too intrusive and oppressive. A brave solid piece of work, maybe too long to hold us, but I imagine would have huge resonance with gay rugby players. As gay men, we were bored!
