- L.M. Montgomery's beloved classic is brought wonderfully to life in this enchanting new feature length adaptation. It's the late 1800's in the beautiful town of Avonlea where brother and sister Matthew (Martin Sheen) and Marilla Cuthbert (Sara Botsford) are planning to adopt a boy to help on the farm. They get quite a surprise when a young girl by the name of Anne Shirley (Ella Ballentine) is sent by mistake. A charming but feisty redhead, Anne must win them over and stay out of trouble if she's to stay at Green Gables.

Lovely adaptation - Anne of Green Gables review by SA
This is very enjoyable and on a par with the previous version. Well acted and charming. A wonderful warm story for a cold Sunday afternoon.
