The film tells the story of a young, ambitious journalist Ulrik Torp who is assigned the job of parliamentary reporter for a top Danish newspaper and uncovers a ruthless conspiracy that involves the country's incumbent Prime Minister. He becomes obsessed with bringing the truth to light, but neither his colleagues nor the politicans are willing to listen to him as he finds himself battling against the people in power. As election day draws nearer, Ulrik has to face the power elite on his own.

The story is very Danish, but you have the suspicion it could be anywhere in the western world where spindoctors are important for modern politicians. Very good acting all around, but the commentary is probably for people interested in Danish politics.

A believable & uncomplicated depiction of political ambition & journalistic determination.

This is a joy to watch, especially the clear & concise subtitles. It tells a single theme story that moves forward at a steady pace without flashbacks or back stories to cause diversions. Most unusually, the main characters are all in happy, stress-flee marriages: makes a change!
I suppose politics & journalism are pretty much the same throughout the developed world but this had a most enjoyable uniqueness for me. A great watch.
