A passionate and secret love story as told by each one of the protagonists, Ana and Otto, from the age of eight until the age of twenty five.
It all starts in 1980, when after school a girl and a boy start to run for different reasons.
Since that afternoon when the world escaped from their grasp, the lives of Ana and Otto will be intertwined in a single circle that will begin to close seventeen years later, in Finland, on the very edge of the arctic circle.

Lovers of the Arctic Circle I have enjoyed Julio Medem's tale about two young people, Otto and Ana, whose story start when they were children, and leads them through ups and downs, but always with love at its heart, back to the past, and Otto's grandfather, who is German, to Finland, after their youth in Spain. The film takes us through their own trip into the past and their future. Robert
