Born completely immune to pain in the 1930s, a small group of children are banished from society. Hidden from a world that fears them, their rehabilitation is soon shattered by the onslaught of civil war. In the present day, brilliant surgeon David is rocked by a fatal diagnosis, after surviving a deadly car crash. In his search for a cure, he is forced to confront secrets long thought buried and forgotten. As David uncovers the truth, his past and present collide, unearthing horror and tragedy in equal measure.

This is one of those foreign language films, that only has subtitles when the actors speak a foreign language, but no subtitles when they speak english. Which makes it unwatchable for those with a hearing loss, such as myself! I struggled to watch the first half an hour, then gave up. So be aware that there are no actual subtitles of those with hearing loss, only intermittent subtitles when foreign language is spoken!
