Too Much Middle - The Odyssey review by JP

Spoiler Alert

Beautiful underwater scenes, but, in general, a rather boring movie which went on much too long. A younger generation could gain some knowledge about the wonderful invention of the Aqua Lung, but did we need to know so much about the problems of the Cousteau family. The beginning and end of the film centre around son, Philippe, and he was a much better pilot than portrayed.

Blue Planet - The Pequil ! - The Odyssey review by JD

Enjoyed this movie a lot !

Very interesting story, based on the life of Jacque Cousteau , who I remember from tv days, with beautiful underwater photography ( wonderful images when they swim with the whales ).

It’s long, but that allows them to explore in some detail the early life of Jacque and his son Phillipe .

Fierce severe financial difficulties results in father and son taking up the baton of Environmental Concern, 40 years before Blue Planet did the same thing !

It does not hold back on being a hatchet job on various family members, I just hope it is all true ?

Beautiful and necessary - The Odyssey review by CSF

Spoiler Alert

This film is a must because it shows that, at last, someone has realised the danger of plastic and the necessity of Ecology. I didn't know Cousteau was the first to see that. The pictures are beautiful and we see all the sufferings, the fights, the sacrifices behind the glamour.
