Overly complex - Iceman: The Time Traveler review by AB

Spoiler Alert
27/02/2020

Far too complex to be enjoyable. The film starts in the Ming dynasty and then suddenly jumps to the modern day with only a passing one-liner as explanation, with the same characters in situ. No storyline, explanation or guidance as to what is going on, beyond the time-travelling orb but even that is too simple an explanation as to what we are supposed to be seeing.

Unenjoyable and overly complicated.

A disappointing sequel - Iceman: The Time Traveler review by AM

This is a direct sequel to ice man (2014) https://www.cinemaparadiso.co.uk/rentals/iceman-173460.html/gallery

Donnie yen has been some of the best martial arts films ever made but this is tepid nonsense. The film is only 1 hour and twenty minutes long. Fifteen of those minutes is spent recalling the events of the previous film in a really confusing way. There are only three set piece fights which are hamstrung by choppy editing, dodgy "wire fu" and low quality cgi effects.

The plot makes no sense, managing to be both incredibly complicated and incredibly stupid at the same time.

There are some nice looking costumes and sets and Donnie yen always adds some value, but even a big Donnie yen fan like me would struggle to recommend this confusing mess.
