Scientific whizkid Ken Wilberforce thought that a robot would be a help around the house, so he built Metal Mickey. But then someone interferes - and deep within Mickey's electronic innards, something stirs... Written by Colin Bostock-Smith (Alas Smith and Jones, As Time Goes By) and directed by Monkees star Michael Dolenzn Metal Mickey was a huge success on children's television in the early1980s, lasting four series over three years. With Mickey's well-meaning buffoonery and tendency to wreak havoc at the drop of a hat it's no wonder that the series has a cult following to this day.
