Sam (Matthew Broderick) has just broken up with his girlfriend, Pastel (Jeanne Tripplehorn). Nursing a broken heart he decides to escape the madness of the apartment he occupies and agrees to a time-share in a fashionable Greenwich Village brownstone house with two other people. Sharing with Ellen (Annabella Sciorra) a married woman looking for a peaceful place to practice her art and Brian (Kevin Anderson)a man completely unwilling to let go of his batchelor lifestyle despite an upcoming wedding. These three never met but when notes are passed between Ellen and Sam, an unusual attraction develops. When Ellen decides to take the risk of extending her friendship past the note stage, she mistakes Brian for Sam with hilarious consequences. - Actors:
