Following the antics of children Wellington (voice of Sheila Steafel), Marlon (voice of Peter Hawkins), Maisie (voice of Judy Bennett) and Baby Crumpling (also voice of Judy Bennett) and of course their canine companions BH (also voice of Peter Hawkins) and Boot (voice of Leonard Rossiter). Together they experience the wonders and challenges of growing up and enjoying exciting adventures within their neighbourhood. 'The Perishers' first appeared in British culture as a daily cartoon strip in 'The Daily Mirror' in 1959. The strip was written by Maurice Dodd and drawn by Dennis Collins. In 1979 the cartoon strip was brought to the small screen by FilmFair, the animation company best known for British classics such as 'The Wombles' and 'Paddington'.
