Synopsis:
It's the 5th of July 1954. A generally quiet, respectable and religious young man, who loves his mother but also loves all types of music - especially Blues and Country enters the Sun Studios in Memphis. He cuts a record with some local musicians and in so doing changes the face of music forever and changes the world too. The young man s name is Elvis Aaron Presley of course and the record he makes, with its fusion of black and white influences, nails a genre that will endure for, at the very least, the next 60 years.
This film explores how it was that the events that led up to this fateful session conspired to create a brand new music and a brand new way of life for all those who came along in its wake. With contributions from those who were there at the time and from others who have studied the subject in depth, and with rare footage, photographs, and music from those pivotal sessions, this documentary goes some way to discovering the why and the how.

Elvis The Memphis Flash! - Elvis Presley: Winds of Change review by MRC

Spoiler Alert
11/01/2019

An interesting documentary on Elvis breaking into the record industry but the DVD Video is actually Elvis - The Memphis Flash released in 2005 so not sure why it has a different name here (especially as the DVD Video titles still show Elvis - The Memphis Flash and the running time is exactly the same!)
