Synopsis:
All schoolgirl Mary Katherine Gallagher (Molly Shannon) wants in life is a kiss. Not just any kiss, mind you - a big-time, hold-your-breath-'til-you-think-you're-gonna-faint, Hollywood-style kiss. But no matter how hard she tries, no one will kiss her. Mary Katherine decides that the only way she's ever going to get what she wants is to become just like the people she sees getting those kisses in the movies. And when Catholic Teen Magazine sponsors a talent contest at her school, Mary Katherine just might make her dreams come true...and become a Superstar!

Dumb and unfunny. - Superstar review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert
15/05/2009

I loved Molly Shannon in Mike White's 'Year Of The Dog', but this is pure drivel. If it's not embarrassing enough to watch a 34 year old woman pretending to be a 15 year old girl, it's even worse that the entire film is devoid of any comedy. Even Will Ferrell was terrible. As a 5 minute Saturday Night Live sketch this would have been mildly amusing, but as a 80 minute film it was dumb and unfunny.
