At a mystery convention in Founder's Cove, New England, Allie Chandler (Brooke Shields), a best-selling author, wins the award for best romantic mystery. But it's becoming clear that her readership is dwindling because she doesn't have the edge and grit that people want. When a literary critic and one of Allie's mentors is murdered at the convention, Allie decides to investigate and write about the crime. Meanwhile, Andi, a young true crime hopeful also at the convention, wants to make a podcast about the case. The two women find themselves tripping over each other while they are investigating.
