Robert Rodriguez presents 'Predators', a bold new chapter in the 'Predator' universe. Adrien Brody stars as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors in a mysterious mission on an alien planet. Except for a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers - mercenaries, mobsters, convicts and death squad members - human "predators". But when they begin to be systematically hunted and eliminated by an unimaginably horrifying alien, it becomes clear that suddenly, they are the prey!
A decent sequel.

After the original Predator movie and the AvP spin-off series this is easily the best of the bunch . That's not to say this is a great film, more that it sadly highlights how poor the other movies are. The film has a pretty decent storyline and if like the 2007 Rambo movie they had cranked up the tension, violence and gore this would have easily surpassed the original movie, the trouble is it's just too tame. If you liked the original then this is well worth a rental, just don't expect to be blown away.
With praise such as "the sequel the original deserved" I had high hopes. In fairness the film isn't diabolical, but it lacks much of the atmosphere of the original amd has that hollywood film set lustre.
The plot makes no sense and the predators themselves are the most lame members of their species yet presented.
Bring back the gritty more realistic filming style and the formidable hunters who can take on multiple aliens or a squad of highly trained soldiers single handed. Can we please have something to be scared by?
