Synopsis:
Keanu Reeves stars as Jack Traven, an LAPD Swat team specialist who is sent to defuse a bomb that a revenge-driven extortionist (Dennis Hopper) has planted on a bus. But until he does, Jack and passenger Sandra Bullock must keep the bus speeding through the streets of Los Angeles at more than 50 miles an hour - or the bomb will explode!

We're watching films with our teenage son at the moment, and it can be a struggle to find films that suit us all. Speed really fitted the bill. There was genuine tension, a fabulous and hilarious villain in Dennis Hopper, and it also helped my son to make sense of that Father Ted episode...
