Synopsis:
Through cinematic recreations, intimate biographical investigations and provocative political, military and economic analysis, History breathes new life into one of the most pivotal periods in American history.

Boston, Bloody Boston / Rebelling To Revolution / Declaring Independence / American Crisis
Faced with escalating controversies and conflicts, the American colonists are forced to act. As rebellion escalates into war, George Washington is appointed Commander-in-Chief of a new army. Following the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, General Washington gambles on a brilliant strategy to save his army, and America itself.

Path To World War / Forging An Army / Treason and Betrayal
A desperate Benjamin Franklin descends on Paris and talks the French into joining the fight against Britain. General Washington fights to restore confidence in his leadership, and for the health and security of his slowly dwindling army, while the once heroic Benedict Arnold turns his back on his country, sealing his legacy as a traitor.

The War Heads South / A Hornet's Nest / The End Game
The British lay siege to Charleston, South Carolina. General Benjamin Lincoln braces for the attack, but his outnumbered force ultimately fails. After the fall of Charleston, the conflict explodes into the Carolina backcountry, sparking a brutal civil war. Washington faces two mutinies in the Continental Army as forces close in for the last major battle of the war.
