Reed Rodney (Blake Stadel) seemingly has it all - major success as a worldwide, best selling novelist, a sweeping, mountaintop mansion, and enough money to live lavishly for the rest of his life. And yet? He's broken - an alcoholic haunted by his past transgressions, actions that have cost him the love of his ex-wife and estranged daughter, Emmy (Natalie Sharp). This self-inflicted isolation and loneliness has never been more apparent than now, as Reed recovers from major reconstructive jaw surgery after a horrific car crash leaves him wired shut and unable to talk.
