For those who get bored by the glut of formula flicks this film is a rare treat. From the title which could be taken from the nursery rhyme to the references to Virgil it's loaded with symbolism from the start to the finish. A poem for the unfortunate Jack, I found this film hugely entertaining but don’t want to spoil it for those who are thinking of giving it a try except to say that like the nursery rhyme, the film builds on the story line by line and divides it up into ‘events’ which ratchet up Jack’s deeds into sections of what we come to realize is symbolic of a deeper and deeper initiation into his own psychopathy. 

Not an easy watch - The House That Jack Built review by NK

I watched The House That Jack Built in a cinema and it played on my mind for a long time afterward. It is mesmerising in its creative cruelty as we follow the development of a warped serial killer, but I almost felt ashamed of myself for watching it, as if I had willingly partaken in its cruelties, or had at least somehow permitted them to happen. I'm glad now that I watched it, but I wasn't so sure of that for a long time.

A very intriguing film, well acted, looks lovely but be prepared it gets very brutal.

Certainly not a film for everyone but with this director what would you really expect? If you liked his previous films I'd certainly give it a watch, if you hated them probably best avoid.

I really liked the plot and the pacing for the first 3/4 of the film but not so much towards the end, could just be me. Certainly different from the norm and very interesting viewing.

Strange trip through the life of a Serial Killer ,From Beginning to End .

Cross between 'American Psycho' ,'Henry,Portrait of a Serial Killer' and 'Man Bites Dog'.

Gruesome , Grim , Blatant and Unapologetic in its Honest Nastiness following close behind a Self Confessed Psychopath .

I Enjoyed it but I wouldn't ever bother watching it again. See it to Experience it. Great and Nightmarishly Believable Effects .
