Ladder 49 (2004)
As fireman Jack (Joaquin Phoenix) risks his life to save a worker from a blazing warehouse, an explosion leaves him injured and trapped. As his boss (John Travolta) mounts a rescue effort, Jack looks back at how he got into this situation. Ladder 49 unfolds as a series of flashbacks, showing the rough reception Jack received as a rookie and how the rigours of his job impacted on his family life. Jay Russell directs this moving portrait of a man committed to saving other lives.

Good blockbuster type of movie
Good all rounder. Contains humour, action, emotion and good general story. Something for the males and females
