Rent Volunteers (1985)


One of the most underrated comedies of the 1980's, John Candy and Tom Hanks star as 'Tom Tuttle' and 'Lawrence Bourne', two Americans who join the peace corp after running away from their troubles. Upon reaching Southeast Asia they are immediately assigned to build a bridge for a local village, what they don't realize is that the bridge is coveted by the U.S. Army, a local Communist force, and a powerful drug lord. Together with the help of the beautiful 'Beth Wexler' (Rita Wilson) and the only English speaking native, the hilarious 'At Toon', they must fight off the three opposing forces and find out what is right for the villagers, as well as themselves.
