Four young Londoners - Max (Josh O'Connor), Charlotte (Hannah Arterton), Leah (Rea Mole) and Jack (Daniel Metz) - long to escape the unhappiness and insecurity of their lives. They abandon the city to pursue freedom in a secluded country house. As the foursome start to experiment, swapping sexual partners and bonding in ways they never thought possible, they create an intense and transcendent new joy. But what forces threaten the durability of what they find there?
Anyone expecting a tale of neo-hippy sexual liberation and self-sufficiency will be in for a disappointment. The four main characters are a group of adults still stuck in their childhood. The conversation is either tedious or childish and the sex is joyless. Give it a miss.
