One sequel too many - The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert
16/05/2009

Despite plenty of special effects and action sequences ‘The Mummy 3’ is pretty much a run of the mill action movie. There is plenty of action but none of it is that thrilling or exciting and pretty much a rehash of the past two Mummy films. Jet-Li is extremely underused as the Emperor as for nearly the whole film his character is a CGI rendered one which anyone could have voiced. Overall the film feels like a quick payday for all involved in which too much time was spent on cheap CGI and not enough on screenwriting. Even as a fan of the first two movies I found this big letdown.

Slow but enjoyable enough - The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert
24/11/2009

It was sometime before they decided to make a third Mummy movie and when they did they took it away from Egypt. The interesting premise of this movie is that it's centred on a Chinese mummy. However the film is very slow taking over 30 minutes to actually get to the action. Certainly it's not a bad film but it's not great either. The planned fourth installement for 2010 has a lot to do to make people enjoy these movies again.
