Built by The Beatles' producer Sir George Martin, AIR Studios Montserrat was the birthplace of mega-hits such as Money for Nothing and Every Breath You Take. A superb documentary - Under the Volcano review by RD
Covering much of the great era of exotic studios and legendary musicians, this detailed and often affectionate documentary is enjoyable from start to finish. It also includes rare and private film footage of the stars that worked in Air Montserrat such as Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, The Police, The Rolling Stones, Duran Duran and many others. In keeping with the audio theme, the soundtrack is full of really good quality music, mixed well (Earth Wind & Fire in Surround was a revelation!).
This is a documentary well worth watching, especially with the sound turned up.
