This film, co-written by Bruce Lee, tells the story of Cord a rebellious martial artist on his quest to find the Book of Enlightenment. On his journey he must determine friend from foe as he travels through a land inhabited by mysterious characters all committed to testing his body, mind and soul to the very core. Cord soon learns that only a combination of perfect martial arts and an understanding of Zen philosophy will be enough to carry him through these trials and on to the final encounter with the wizard Zetan, keeper of the Book of Enlightenment.
