Fourteen year old Harriet is a girl who doesn't quite fit in, and when she's kicked out of the Girl Guides for fighting, her father doesn't know what to do with her. As war breaks out and the Scouts and Guides are volunteered to support the war effort at home, Harriet decides to form her own army of misfits, mounting their own patrols to track down German spies. Soon, she and her army become embroiled in a daring adventure on the hunt for an enemy who is much closer to home than they realise. Charming First World War Home Front Saga - Harriet's Army review by KW
Mis fit Harriet who is expelled from the Girl Guides and who sets up her own band of friends to monitor the war for her home town and assist a family who have been branded as lovers of Germany on the basis that before the war their daughter/sister fell in love and married a German.
The younger son of the family has epilepsy but recognises that some thing is not right when he sees regular lights being flashed at night. Enter Harriet and her team who bring the film to a fitting denouement and the villain is caught. Throughly enjoyed it and was kept engrossed until the final credits.
