I agree with KW, in that the film is beautifully shot, slow but decent story line, and good acting. But towards the end it goes off, and I thought I'd lost the plot somewhere. But not bad.
Worth a star for the occasional shots of magnificent northern Spanish scenery.
Beyond that however, lies a complete mess of a tale, full of unexplained turns and unconnected incidents. Apparently it is meant to be a re-telling of the story of a Catholic saint. This is a film which keeps on promising something but delivers one of the lamest and silliest endings possible.
Intriguing storyline, and well acted. However the rambling incoherent Catholic inspired parable was too tedious for words. And the ending is totally unsatisfactory. I felt annoyed that I had watched it to the end.
