Synopsis:
The most powerful of all was Susanoh-oh, a violent and chaotic entity who terrorised the other gods until he was banished to the underworld for his crimes. In the ancient legends the power of the universe is split into two aspects, Brahman and Atman. Brahman is the force of pure truth and knowledge, while Atman is the energy of the human soul and only through true enlightenment can they be reconciled. But this enlightenment bears a terrible price, as Takahashi, a young boy haunted by the memory of his murdered father, knows only too well. Takahashi is the living embodiment of Atman and it is his destiny to face the forces of darkness alone.
He leaves behind the carnage of Osaka and travels with his murderous entourage of hungry ghosts, in his possession is one half of the golden seal of Yamatai, The only artefact that can summon Susanoh-oh, the God of Darkness back to Earth. But close behind him is Kikuchi-Ko, head of the powerful Kikuchi clan and the man who holds the other half of the Yamatai seal. Only when the two meet can the true nature of Susanoh-oh be revealed...
