Kenneth More stars as G. K. Chesterton's classic 1920s clergyman-detective Father Brown. When Father Brown's calling as a priest brings him into contact with crime he uses his powers of deduction, keen observation and a knowledge of the darker side of human nature to uncover the truth.
The Hammer of God
Father Brown becomes involved in a village scandal where the local Colonel is the source of gossip because of his romantic liaisons. The Colonel is brutally murdered and Father Brown discovers the answer - in a church tower.
The Oracle of the DogWhen Colonel Druce decides to change his Will a lot of people begin to worry. Father Brown is a guest at the Druce house when this is happening and the family dog helps him to solve the Colonel's murder.
The Curse of the Golden Cross
A murder plot or the past catching up? Father Brown meets an eminent archaeologist whose life has been threatened by an ancient curse. The Father's knowledge of mediaeval history throws light on the mystery.
