- The romantic stage success that captured a nation is now a great motion picture. Joe Bonaparte wants to be a boxer but his father wants him to pursue his musical talent. Persuading near-bankrupt manager Tom Moody (Adolphe Menjou) to give him a chance, Joe quickly rises in his new profession. Pushing him in that direction is also his friendly sidekick Lorna Moon played by the great Barbara Stanwyck. Eventually, Lorna is forced to choose between two loves in her life. Tom is the man who came to her rescue when she was at her lowest point, however, young fighter Joe is a truly soulful character.
