In 1973, a research team, led by Constance Webb (Dakota Johnson) and Ezekiel Sims (Tahar Rahim), discovers an unidentified species of spider in the jungles of Peru with rare healing properties; Ezekiel betrays the team and claims the spider for himself before leaving Constance for dead. An indigenous tribe attempts to save Constance using the bite of the spider, but she dies shortly after giving birth to a girl, whom she names Cassandra. Thirty years later, Cassandra, going by "Cassie", lives alone in Queens, New York, working as a paramedic with her co-workers Benjamin "Ben" Parker (Adam Scott) and O'Neil (Mike Epps). While working to save a driver from a car hanging off a bridge, Cassie falls into the water and has a near-death experience; Ben revives her. Cassie soon begins to suffer from what she initially dismisses as déjà vu, seeing events that have not yet happened, but slowly realizes that she can, in fact, see into the future after failing to prevent O'Neil from dying on the job... - Actors:

This is just about the worst modern superhero film I've ever seen. This is on par with the 90s lame-ohs like The Shadow or The Phantom. Stiff acting, ludicrous plot, log gaps agogo, and one of the worst heroines and villain combos seen in a blockbuster for years. Dakota Johnson plays the part of Madam Web with zero enthusiasm but even she is out-witted by French actor Tahar Rahim as the big bad. He is reduced to a baddie who spouts either exposition or short directives like 'get them' , ' they went that way'. ' They're getting away', 'I have perfected the magic serum'.... It's criminally naff and boring. The worst cinema film of 2024 and it's only March!
