- A wonderful evocation of a time (1912 - 1930) when Lawrence, his wife Frieda (Janet Suzman), and assorted friends and supporters travelled to America, Mexico and Europe in search of peace and inspiration following the banning of his books and paintings. The authorities could ban his writing and painting but his genius was never meant to be hidden.
