A gruesome discovery in the Houston sewer system, a bag containing the severed hands of young girls, brings state profiler Audrey Macleah (Ally Walker) into one of the most disturbing investigations of her career. Each hand bears a number tattooed on the palm, and the trail leads to Jordan Thomas (Tara Subkoff), a troubled psychiatric patient whose violent seizures are linked to eerie drawings of numbered hands. As Macleah earns Jordan's trust, she begins to suspect an impossible connection between the girl and the murders, one that defies logic and points toward a buried past that someone will kill to keep hidden.
